Starting a Phoenix app with Phoenix Express

To start a Phoenix application on macOS or Ubuntu, you can use Phoenix Express:

curl https://new.phoenixframework.org/myapp | sh

It installs Erlang, Elixir and Phoenix and generates myapp. Change the name in the URL to name your application. It uses PostgreSQL or MySQL if available, otherwise SQLite.

I’ve shut down phx.tools, our earlier environment setup script. The website and installer are offline, and the source is now a public archive. More about the shutdown.
