Sharing ElixirDrops sponsorship revenue
almirsarajcic
I’m trying revenue sharing on ElixirDrops through the end of December. To qualify, you need at least five published Drops in total on ElixirDrops. Drops from any month count, including ones you published before the pilot. There’s no monthly publishing minimum.
Half of the net sponsorship revenue from individual Drop pages goes to their authors. We start with the money collected, deduct payment fees, and split each campaign across months according to how long it ran in each one. Homepage sponsorship stays outside the pool.

Net sponsorship revenue from Drop pages
---------------------------------------
Qualifying authors 50%
ElixirDrops 50%
Five published Drops total to qualify.
Your share depends on monthly readership.
For each month, open the page breakdown in the public Plausible dashboard and look at the Visitors column for each published Drop URL. At the end of each month, we check which authors have reached five Drops in total and count that month’s visitors across all their Drops. If your Drops account for 5% of the visitor counts across Drops by qualifying authors, you get 5% of that month’s creator pool. Plausible deduplicates visitors within a day. The same person can count again on another day or device, and someone who reads two Drops can count toward both.
The pilot covers November 1 through December 31, 2026. Readership and sponsorship use the same Europe/Sarajevo calendar. My Drops follow the same rules as everyone else’s.
I’ll calculate shares on the first of the following month. I’ll email you at the address associated with the GitHub account you use for ElixirDrops, with your visitor counts, the amount you earned, and how we’ll arrange payment. I’ll handle payments manually. I’ll calculate November’s shares on December 1 and pay by December 14. For December, those dates are January 1 and January 14. The minimum payout is US$1 per eligible author per month, after rounding. Amounts below US$1 aren’t paid or carried over.
The Phoenix app behind ElixirDrops is public on GitHub if you want to see how the site works.
If you’ve found a fix or a trick another Elixir developer could use, sign in with GitHub on ElixirDrops and write a Drop.
